WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - New Hanover High School has hired Dylan Dimock as its new football coach.

Dimock spent the past 10 years as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Hoggard High School.

From 2001-08, he was the head football coach at Ashley High School, where he had a 29-64 record and led the Screaming Eagles to their only winning season (8-5) in 2004.

“We’re excited to welcome Coach Dimock to New Hanover High School as our new head football coach,” New Hanover High School Principal Dr. Rob Morgan said in news release.

Dimock replaces Earl Smith, who retired in November after four seasons. Smith won a 3AA state championship in 2017.
