NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A water main break is causing periods of low or no water pressure for Wrightsville Beach residents and the Division of Water Resources has issued a boil water advisory.

The water main break happened on East Salisbury Street. Division of Water Resources officials said Friday night that when water is restored, consumers should boil all water used for human consumption or used bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

Conserving water whenever possible is recommended by the Division of Water Resources.

The advisory is expected to be rescinded by 5 p.m. Saturday.
