ROCKY POINT, NC (WECT) - A teenager who is losing her sight got a good look at a special Christmas tree made for her on Thursday night in Pender County.

Last week, we brought you the story of Mary Maness' effort to make the holidays special for the girl, whose mother wanted to build a 7-foot tree with Christmas villages, toy trains and other decor.

The tree was presented Thursday night at Long Creek Farms during a Christmas party for Hurricane Florence survivors and the teen took it home afterward.

Maness met the girl’s mother while volunteering to help Hurricane Florence victims.
