WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The UNCW men’s basketball team faces its second consecutive Top 25 opponent when it plays at No. 23 Furman on Saturday.

Last Wednesday, the Seahawks lost 97-69 at No. 12 North Carolina.

In addition to scouting the Paladins, Seahawks players been studying for final exams and UNCW coach C.B. McGrath has been trying to give his players as much time as possible to prepare for their tests.

"We had some shooting workouts, conditioning, and lifting,” said McGrath. “More so just to break a good sweat. We have worked out for an hour, no longer than that because I know it’s hard to go through finals.”

The final exam schedule was changed because students lost reading days due to Hurricane Florence.

UNCW junior guard Jaylen Fornes says the extra study time has helped.

“We know coach cares about academics,” said Fornes. "We have had some time off, but we have had some conditioning and shooting. We have been in the gym keeping things intact.”
