WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - When you walk on the Barr Evergreens Christmas tree lot, a blue tree among a forest of green will most likely catch your eye.

The business is selling trees painted blue in support of law enforcement.

“I’ve been in law enforcement for 13 years in West Jefferson, North Carolina, and we think it’s important to support law enforcement across the state of North Carolina,” said Brad Jordan, who works with Barr Evergreens.

Between 10 and 15 blue trees have been sold at the Wilmington retail location this holiday season, said Jordan.

“It’s the very first feedback we get when somebody walks into the tree lot,” said Jordan. “They ask what the blue tree is about, and we just tell them, ‘Blue Lives Matter,’ and we just think everybody matters and try to participate in any way we can.”

The lot is located at the intersection of Shipyard Boulevard and Independence Boulevard in Wilmington.
