WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Tis the season for giving and this year there’s a greater need because off additional challenges for families still recovering from Hurricane Florence.
The Salvation Army kicked off the annual Red Kettle Campaign, with a goal of raising $325,000.
“The Salvation Army is grateful for the community and community partners. Because of their generosity, we can serve residents in need at Christmas and throughout the year with our social service programs,” said Major Mark Craddock , Corps Officer of The Salvation Army Wilmington, NC Corps.
The money raised during the Red Kettle Campaign helps with The Salvation Army’s social service programs.
In 2018, The Salvation Army of Wilmington, NC has served more than 4,000 people through its social service programs that provide food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance to those in need.
WECT is doing its part to help raise funds for the Salvation Army’s Kettle Bell Campaign. Join members of the News and Weather Teams, Sales Department, Engineering Department, and Administrative Offices as they ring the bell all day Friday December 7 at the Monkey Junction Walmart at 5135 Carolina Beach Road.
