BOLIVIA, NC (WECT) - A Hurricane Florence disaster recovery center in Brunswick County will close permanently this week.
The recovery center located in Bolivia at Brunswick Community College is scheduled to shut down Friday at 6 p.m. According to an email from a FEMA spokesperson, the location will be open until 6 p.m. Wednesday-Friday.
Another recovery center in Bladen County is set to close at 6 p.m. Thursday. Centers in Wilmington and Burgaw remain open, but for a limited time.
Hurricane survivors do not have to visit a recovery center for assistance. Help is available by calling 800-621-3362 and registration can also be done online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by downloading the FEMA mobile or ReadyNC apps. FEMA said more than 1,600 people have visited the Brunswick County center since it opened in September.
