WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Flooding shut down several streets of Carolina Beach for hours Saturday morning.

Carolina Beach Flooding

Crews had signs set up road closure signs along most of Canal Drive, as heavy rain and overwash from the Intracoastal Waterway put close to a foot of flooding on the street.

The flooding crept into several yards and into carports. At least one car had to be pushed out of the water after the driver tried to get through the flooding and got stuck.

Parts of Carl Winner Drive and Myrtle Avenue were also closed to traffic because of the high water.
