NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Communications systems have been restored at New Hanover County government buildings after an outage.
According to a press release from the county, an accident on College Road caused damage to the county’s fiber network Tuesday. Communications to the Senior Resource Center, Public Health and Social Services buildings were affected.
The county tweeted Wednesday evening that repairs have been made and phone lines, Internet and computer systems are now operational.
The outage affected phone, Internet, and computer systems and individual employee phone lines were not working.
Those visiting the government buildings Wednesday morning were told to expect delays in service since the agencies were using manual, paper-based systems.
